Vicky Rubin – Author Illustrator

Vicky Rubin is an author and illustrator living in the frenzied but friendly city of New York, where she has held jobs ranging from proofreader to hand model.

She wrote and illustrated the book Ralphie and the Swamp Baby, and wrote the book The Three Swingin’ Pigs (illustrated by Rhode Montijo), both picture books from Henry Holt.

She has illustrated activity books, greeting cards, and a series of children’s stories for Alpacas magazine. Her work can also be seen stuck to various people’s walls and refrigerators. Her poetry for kids has appeared in Cricket and Spider magazines, where it hopefully was greeted by loud giggles.

She is currently working on some new projects, and if you write to her maybe she’ll tell you about them.

She enjoys traveling, animals, stovepipe hats, and all–night diners. She’s a member of Children’s Book Illustrators Group (CBIG) and SCBWI.
